Lauren and I are leaving tonight for Nairobi. We've had a blast in Egypt. We had such an awesome group for our trip (yeah A-team!) and we went to so many amazing places. With the exception of delayed luggage, falling down the stairs and losing my Hawaiian wrap, everything was perfect. We went to Cairo, Aswan, Luxor, Alexandria, Siwa, Bahariya, and the White Sands Desert. We got to see a lot of the amazing temples and monuments, spent several days on the Nile in a felucca, and camped in the desert. We took a 10 hour land cruiser ride through the desert and didn't see another soul. We even got stuck in the sand at one point. I can't wait to share my photos and tell all of the funny, random stories. Lauren and I have encountered many different people and cultures and have had many good laughs. We are hoping to make our flight tonight to Nairobi, however, the airlines can't seem to get our flight time right so we will see if we make it!

Well I am leaving in about 12 hours for my first trip into Africa. It's come so fast... I can't believe June 7th is already here. I think Lauren and I are as prepared as we can be but in all reality have no idea what to expect in Egypt. So yes, Egypt is our first stop. We will be there until June 23. According to the itinerary we are going from Cairo down to Aswan, then sailing on the Nile for 2 days, then on to Luxor, then Alexandria, then Siwa, then the Western Desert where we will camp under the stars, and then back to Cairo. Full itinerary. We think we are traveling with 10 other people that could be from all over so that should be really cool. Hopefully my next post will have some more excitement to it and details about our travels!
